The norm in the 21st century is for agriculture, typically [[agroindustrial]] farming, to be degenerative to it's environment and to rely on depleting natural resources such as energy, [[soil fertility]] and [[biodiversity]]. Restorative Agriculture, in contrast, is any agricultural system that results in the increase of soil fertility, biodiversity and either minimizes non-renewable energy usage or results in a net production of energy (that is to say - captures energy from the sun).
