A stocker/finisher operation is a segment of the beef industry which combines the roles of the stocker operation and the grass finishing operation (or increasingly the feeder operation through use of a feedlot.
Stocker/finisher operations used to be quite common but have declined due to the increasing segmentation of the beef industry and the rapid growth of the agro-industrial feedlot.
