The chicken industry, together with the pork industry, represents the worst extreme of the agro-industrial paradigm with regard to the factory farming of livestock. chickens raised by this industry spend their entire lives in huge climate controlled buildings housing tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of other animals in a totally artificial environment.
